VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT (VAWA)
Violence Against Women Act Formula Program (VAWA) grants may be used to provide funding to state agencies and local units of government, private not-for-profit organizations, law enforcement, and prosecutors that offer victim services programs to adult female victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Priority is given to victim advocacy services (30%), prosecution (25%), law enforcement (25%), courts (5%), and discretionary programs (15%). These funds may not be used for services to children unless they accompanied their mother during the crime. State agencies, local units of government and private not-for-profit organizations may apply for these funds.

The annual Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant program solicitation opened closed October 14, 2011. Applicants were notified of award decisions in January 2012 via US Mail. A list of awards may be accessed at the link below:

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) grant program solicitation closed 5:00 pm Eastern Time, August 21, 2009.
Applicants were notified of award decisions in February 2010 via U.S. Mail. The awards press release and recipients' list may be accessed at the links below.
