FRANKFORT, KY –The Kentucky Criminal Justice Council will demonstrate how ankle bracelets equipped with GPS technology will be used to monitor certain inmates completing their sentence on home incarceration.   The demonstration will begin at 2 p.m. Monday in Room C105 of the Transportation Cabinet Conference Center, 200 Mero Street, Frankfort.

Lawmakers during the last legislative session approved the use of the technology to monitor individuals placed on home incarceration.  Corrections officials plan to begin implementing GPS monitoring of certain inmates in September.

The demonstration follows the regular meeting of the Criminal Justice Council, which begins at 1 p.m. in Room C117 of the Transportation building.
