Justice and Public Safety Cabinet announces $1.9 million in funds to combat violence against women

FRANKFORT, KY - Justice and Public Safety Secretary J. Michael Brown today announced that $1.9 million in funding is available for public safety grants through the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Services, Training, Officers, Prosecution (STOP) program.  Applications for the funding are due by October 15, 2012. 

VAWA STOP grants may be used to support service delivery and related assistance to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual assault.   Applications and related information may be obtained by following the links on the Grants Management Branch webpage, http://justice.ky.gov/departments/gmb.

Awards are scheduled to be announced in January 2013. 

All applications must be submitted via the on-line Kentucky Justice Grants Management System (GMS).  Applications and related resources are available by following the links on the Grants Management Branch webpage, http://justice.ky.gov/departments/gmb. New applicants are strongly encouraged to establish a user account and familiarize themselves with the system well in advance of the due date.  Please note: validation of new user accounts will take 48-72 hours.
