KVE, KSP to target violations contributing to CMV collisions

Frankfort, KY - Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE) Commissioner Greg Howard is announcing a safety initiative in the I-65 corridor in the Elizabethtown area.  Officers will be targeting violations such as speeding, unsafe lane changes, and following too closely.

Officers will be using a covert commercial vehicle to observe violations, commonly described as “aggressive driving”, that contribute to crashes involving large trucks.  Specific details will be provided during a media briefing at the Hardin County weigh station on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. ET.

The weigh station is located on I-65 (Southbound), just south of Exit 91 in Elizabethtown.

Representatives from KVE will be available for media interviews and video opportunities.  Please coordinate ride-along requests in advance through the KVE contact.
