Third Annual – Christmas Spree with KVE in Clay County
(London, KY) – With the holiday season here, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE) recently hosted its third annual Christmas Spree with KVE charity event. Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement and the Manchester Police Department combined efforts to make the holidays brighter for less fortunate children throughout Clay County. On Friday, December 15th, officers took 65 special young guests to Wal-Mart in Manchester for an evening of shopping, eating, gift wrapping, and fun.
The students were chosen through Family Resource Centers at local schools. The evening began with the kids eating pizza and taking pictures with Santa Claus. The kids were then taken on a shopping spree and given $100 each to spend on clothing, toys and other needs.
“During the holidays, it’s a great feeling to be able to do something special for these kids,” said KVE Sergeant Brian Jackson. “The generosity of our sponsors and the hard work of the Manchester Wal-Mart employees made it all possible.”
The money to fund the shopping was raised by local businesses across Clay County. Donations exceeded $6,500.
