Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)

Violence Against Women Act Formula Program (VAWA) grants may be used to provide funding to state agencies and local units of government, private not-for-profit organizations, law enforcement, and prosecutors that offer victim services programs to adult female victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
 
Priority is given to victim advocacy services (30%), prosecution (25%), law enforcement (25%), courts (5%), and discretionary programs (15%). These funds may not be used for services to children unless they accompanied their mother during the crime. State agencies, local units of government and private not-for-profit organizations may apply for these funds.

Annual VAWA Application

The annual Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) program solicitation opens August 1, 2016. Applications must be submitted on or before Midnight Eastern/11:00pm Central, September 18, 2016. Applicants will be notified of award decisions via U.S. Mail.
