Mike Jansen

Mike Jansen is the Sheriff of Campbell County and resides with his wife, Jill of 35 years. Member of Crossroad Community Church, Florence, KY. Mike retired after 27 years as a law enforcement in 2009. A short three months later the Campbell County Commonwealth Attorney hired him as her detective.

In 2015 Mike was elected as Campbell County Sheriff. During Mike’s service to the community he has served as a volunteer firefighter, EMT, Auxiliary Police Officer, Dare Officer, Detective, grant writer and Community Resource Officer. Providing leadership through professionalism, accountability, communication and efficiency is his trademark. The Campbell County Sheriff Office received its first Law Enforcement State Accreditation Certification in 2017. Mike is a 2017 graduate of the National Sheriff Institute Session #112.

Mike is an active member or has served on the following organizations, boards and committees: Board of Director / Sergeant of Arms of the Kentucky Sheriff Association, National Sheriffs Association, Vice President for the Campbell County Police Chiefs Association, Kentucky Association of Police Chiefs, Membership Chair - Northern Kentucky Police Chiefs Association, Board of Directors – Northern Kentucky Children Advocacy Center, KY Concern of Police Survivors, Board of Director - Holly Hill Child & Family Solutions. Lodge Trustee - Campbell County Fraternal Order of Police, Past President - Kentucky Crime Prevention Coalition.

​Mike serves on the Curriculum Committee.
