KRS 15.315 establishes the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council as an independent administrative body with members of the following appointed by the Governor to serve four year terms:​

  • ​President of the Kentucky Women’s Law Enforcement Network

  • Attorney General of Kentucky

  • Commissioner of the Kentucky State Police

  • Commissioner of the Department of Criminal Justice Training

  • Chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department

  • Chief of the Lexington Police Department

  • Chief of the Bowling Green Police Department

  • Chief of the Owensboro Police Department

  • Director of the Southern Police Institute

  • Director of the Northern Kentucky Police & Sheriff’s Training Center

  • Dean of the College of Justice & Safety of Eastern Kentucky University

  • President of the Kentucky Peace Officers’ Association

  • President of the Kentucky Association of Chiefs’ of Police

  • President of the Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police

  • President of the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association

  • United States Attorney of the East & Western District of Kentucky
